We were asked to embark on a predetermined journey through the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne and to document it via a number of means:
1. Serial vision (factual and/or sensory)
2. Mapping (non‐traditional) – in small groups

Non-traditional map
using four separate layers, this map was expanded out from the original route so that it was bale to show all major forms of infrastructure in the city. The route is still highlighted in red but other main road routes are shown in grey, the metro routes are shown in orange, the train lines in black, main bodies of water in blue and green spaces in green. We hoped to demonstrate the layers of infrastructure that allow a city to connect and flow using the individual layers assembled together.
